We're looking for a Marketing Research Manager to join our team!
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee customer research: target market segment needs and preferences, pricing, buying behaviors, etc
- Drive internal company primary market research to understand attitudes and needs of employee base
- Provide expertise internally on primary research methodologies
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with 3rd party research firms to ensure quality research
- Manage in-house research resources and Market Research budget to achieve successful completion of goals and objectives
- Design and implements primary research studies on customer needs, behaviors and attitudes
- Work closely with the market segment teams and provides research advice and services
- Develop, implement, and maintain a process for ongoing brand measurement, tracking and reporting
- Compile, analyze, and synthesize data as well as report on Lyris’ and competitors’ brand positioning, strengths and weaknesses
- Compile secondary and/or primary research, analyze and synthesize the results, as well as write/present reports and recommendations as required
- Reports finding appropriately to the most senior levels of the organization
- Set and manage market research budget and ensure that Lyris operates successfully within this budget
Qualifications
- Strong grasp of primary research methodologies: must be able to grasp and synthesize business implications of research findings and communicate these with confidence
- Strong organizational skills coupled with sense of urgency
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills
- Strong team player and ability to collaborate
- Knowledge of the technology/software industries is a key asset
- Proficiency in basic statistical methods and tools (SPSS) is mandatory along with a demonstrated competency and/or strongly desire to learn more advanced analytical methods (conjoint models, discrete choice, perceptual mapping, etc.)
- Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
- 3+ years experience as primary market researcher and analyst
- Graduate degree (preferred) with specialty in marketing, psychology, sociology or other, demonstrating strong background in consumer and customer research, brand research and analysis
