Lyris Client Takes Gold at "Pollie" Awards
Berkeley, CA — February 22, 2005 — Lyris
client New
Media Communications has been awarded gold-level
recognition in the category of email and viral marketing
at the 2005 Pollie Awards—an annual ceremony honoring
excellence in political communication.
The Ohio-based marketing firm worked with members
of Lyris’ Professional Services team to create
advanced email marketing initiatives for the Bush-Cheney
2004 presidential campaign—including a web form
that allowed non-technical users to create sophisticated
conditional content in email messages.
"Using ListManager's advanced personalization
capabilities, New Media Communications was able to generate
sophisticated newsletters with content targeted specifically
to each recipient," explains Lyris Director of
Technology Jeffrey Rothman. "Working together,
we were also able to hit delivery speeds of over one
million messages per hour, even with a high level of
personalization."
In order to include custom items such as maps to the
recipient’s polling place directly in the body
of email messages, New Media’s databases were
linked directly to ListManager—Lyris’ best-selling
email marketing software application. Other innovations
included an embedded voter registration form, and one
that allowed users to forward the message to five friends
on the spot.
"Because we specialize in cutting-edge, interactive
Internet services, we have advanced requirements"
explains Mike Connell, President and CEO of New Media
Communications. "Lyris offered us the right combination
of high-performance products and knowledgeable in-house
expertise to meet our complex needs."
The Pollie Awards are given annually by the American
Association of Political Consultants — a Washington
D.C.-based bipartisan organization of political professionals
that work from the local to the federal level. Other
Pollie honorees included Ken Mehlman for his management
of the Bush-Cheney presidential ticket, and the newly
installed Ukranian President Viktor Yushchenko and Aristotle
International as "International Campaign Team of
the Year."
The full list of Pollie honorees can be found here.
