Lyris Wins "Fast 50" Award
BERKELEY, CA - July 27, 2004 - Lyris Technologies,
developers of the world's best-selling software for
email marketing, announced today that it has been named
to the East
Bay Business Times' list of the "50
Fastest Growing Private Companies" in the region.
Lyris ranks twelfth on the list with a three-year growth
record of 140% and after-tax profitability of greater
than 26%, leading it to a first place tie in that category.
Lyris Technologies, founded in 1994, is one of the
foremost developers of commercial email management software
and services. A pioneer in the email marketing space,
Lyris is the maker of Lyris
ListManager, the world's best-selling email marketing
software. Lyris' full line of email management, delivery,
and filtering applications is used by more than 4,000
businesses and organizations, including such household
names as H.J. Heinz Co., Frederick's
of Hollywood, and Warner Brothers Music.
"For the last ten years, Lyris has had a consistent
vision of developing the best email software available.
We've continued to innovate year in and out, while maintaining
a strong connection to our core technical competencies
and independent business roots," said Steven Brown,
COO for Lyris Technologies. "Even as we're grown in
numbers, one aspect of our company culture has held
fast: skilled, knowledgeable employees who come in every
day empowered to do their jobs well."
East Bay Business Times, a publication of American
City Business Journals, Inc., ranked privately held
companies in its "50 Fastest Growing Private Companies"
competition. Participating companies must have had at
least $200,000 in FY 2001 revenue, and the accounting
firm of Blanding Boyer & Rockwell, LLP, verified their
financial information.
Among Most Profitable
Of all "50
Fastest" companies reporting their profitability,
Lyris Technologies was among the most successful. Lyris
was one of only two businesses reporting after-tax profit
margins greater than 26%, and the only business in the
top 20 rankings with such solid performance.
"Managing our bottom line responsibly isn't just good
sense; it helps us attract new customers, who take confidence
in Lyris' financial strength," Brown noted. "Businesses
investing in six-figure email marketing software expect
long-term support and consistent new product development,
and our finances allow us to do that well."
