Upgrade Policy
Upgrading from v3.x to v4.0 or v4.2
MailShield Server has two distinct feature sets, Standard and Pro. The Standard feature set corresponds with the previous, single feature set offered in MailShield Server 3.x and earlier.
If you have a valid Comprehensive Support package for MailShield Server 3.x, you may upgrade to MailShield Server 4.0 Standard at no charge. If you have an Essential Support package, you may apply a 50% credit of the price paid for your existing license to your upgrade purchase of a 4.0 Standard license.
If you have a valid Comprehensive or Essential Support package for MailShield Server 3.x, you may apply a 100% or 50% credit (respectively) of the price paid for your existing license to your upgrade purchase of a 4.2 Pro license.

These instructions are for the release version of MailShield Server 4.0 Standard and MailShield Server 4.1 Pro. Before you upgrade, please read the information below carefully.
Use your Serial Numberor Contact Us
Depending on your existing MailShield Server license and Support Contact, you may need to contact us for an evaluation or replacement Serial Number in order to run v4.1 at your licensed level.

Back up existing installation
Be sure to back up your MailShield Server directory and database if running 4.1 Pro. If you are running MailShield Server 2.x or higher, MailShield Server will automatically migrate your old settings to the new installation.
